Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Suzanne Frailing is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and joined the Meridian Group of Chesterfield in 2013 as a therapist. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults and specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skills issues, learning disabilities and autism/Aspergers-related issues. She utilizes a strengths-based perspective, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused interventions and social skills training as a basis for treatment, depending upon the needs and desires of the individual. She frequently utilizes play and art as a means of healing and discovery for individuals of all ages.
Suzanne sees her interactions with individuals as client centered and goal focused. When someone comes into therapy, she would like to get to know them and understand the problem from their unique perspective, and from there develop solutions together to addressing the challenges that they are facing. Her goal as a therapist is to be supportive, non-judgmental, realistic and to see her clients flourish as they learn lifelong skills to help resolve current and future problems.
Suzanne received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from James Madison University in 1997 and her Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000. She has been involved in working with children and adolescents and their families since 2000 in various agencies in the Greater Richmond area. In addition, she was trained in Positive Behavior Support behavioral interventions and has been working with individuals on the autism spectrum since 2008.
