Tawana Olds, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Ms. Olds has been working with children, adolescents, adults and their families for more than 15 years. She has a long history of helping children and adolescents work through their developmental needs and the transition to young adulthood.
Tawana is trained and experienced in motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She is experienced in working as an family engagement specialist, faccilitating family partnerships, resolving family conflicts, and developing plans for families to work together and avoid conflict.
Tawana also provides substance abuse counseling, and has worked with adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings. She works with high risk adult women to address trauma and abuse. Tawana also works with couples to address intimacy, divorce, conflict, blended families, and communication.
Prior to joining the Meridian Group, she worked for the Department of Social Services as a casework supervisor, foster care prevention specialist, foster care case worker, and employment services worker. Tawana received her undergraduate degree at Virginia Union University. She received her Masters of Social work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2000. She has been a licensed clinical social worker since 2005.
