George White, Licensed Professional Counselor
George White is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has provided mental health services for the past 44 years. He is also a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, National Certified Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
George works with adults and adolescents with substance use disorders, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. He works to help people gain insight through cognitive behavioral therapy and holistic therapy focusing on mind-body-spirit.
Mr. White received his Bachelors in Psychology from VCU in 1974, his Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from VCU in 1976 and his Doctoral in Psychology from California Southern University in 2005. He has training in addiction medicine, treating addictions, advanced psychopharmacology, anxiety disorders and bipolar disorder. He has been involved in ongoing training at Harvard Medical School since 2004.
During his career, in addition his outpatient practice, Mr. White has work experience that includes Charter Westbrook Hospital, Moreno Institute of Psychodrama, Youth Corrections, Adult Corrections, Department of Rehabilitative Services and Poplar Springs Hospital.
